Picture putting on a flashy dress to see a brand new movie about your very famous ex-boyfriend. That is exactly what Linda Thompson just did. On February 18, 2026, the famous songwriter walked the red carpet in Hollywood to support a huge new film about Elvis Presley. Everyone was talking about her surprise visit to the big event.
Linda made sure all eyes were on her at the TCL Chinese Theatre. She wore a stylish black midi dress completely covered in shiny sequins. The dress had one long sleeve and an off-the-shoulder look. She even added cheetah-print heels and a matching bag to make her outfit pop. Fans are very excited because the movie EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert hits IMAX theaters on February 20.
Long before this movie, Linda actually lived a wild life with the famous singer. She dated Elvis for over four years between 1972 and 1976 after he split from Priscilla Presley. In her 2016 book called A Little Thing Called Life, she explained that she had to leave him right when his prescription drug addiction got very bad.
She loved him deeply but realized staying meant giving up too much of herself. Linda knew she wanted to become a mother but could not bring a baby into a life with Elvis. Less than a year after she left, Elvis passed away in August 1977. Later on, she married Caitlyn Jenner and had two sons named Brandon and Brody.

They were in San Francisco when Elvis told her he flew his private plane in just to send her home to visit family. However, Linda knew he was lying and had actually flown another girl in from Memphis. She looked into his blue eyes and realized she had to get out.
That was the exact moment she decided to pack up and leave Graceland for good. She hated living at his beck and call because it made her lose control of her own life. She wrote him a sweet letter calling him the love of her life but explained she just wanted a normal life. She said Elvis was very shocked and hurt by her choice.
