The epic love story actually started long before that wild Vegas trip. They first locked eyes in Germany in 1959 when Elvis was in the Army and Priscilla was just fourteen years old. Against all odds, they stayed connected through endless phone calls when he went back home. Eventually, her strict parents let her move to Graceland at age seventeen, but only if she promised to finish high school and live with Elvis’s father. Back then, it cost over three thousand dollars, which is exactly like spending thirty-one thousand dollars today! It was an expensive, tasty slice of pure music history.

Just a few short weeks after the magical wedding, the party continued back at Graceland. On May 24, 1967 the newlyweds celebrated a brand new milestone: Priscilla’s 22nd birthday.
