She’s gearing up for her January 29th show at Turner Hall Ballroom. But it’s the vibe that’s different this time. The show has “grown up,” she says. Even though it still remains squeaky-clean and family-friendly. She believes she’s come a long way with her own original writing, new musical genres, and even a debuting puppet character. Longtime fans will still see old favorites, but there’s a clear evolution here, both onstage and off.
And behind all the fun is a lot of skill. There’s no doubt about how tremendously talented Darci really is. Winning such a massive show at just 12 years of age speaks for itself. During the interview, Darci casually breaks down just how much goes into ventriloquism: voice work, character animation, comedic timing, and keeping your lips completely still. She made the anchors try it out, but they quickly failed at it when they tried puppetry themselves.
