Hannah Harper Just Lived The Dream She Talked About All Season

There are moments on live television that stop you mid-scroll. Hannah Harper’s duet with Lee Ann Womack on the American Idol finale was one of them.

Before the finale, Hannah didn’t even hesitate when asked about her favorite country artists.

“Obviously, Lee Ann Womack is on the top,” she said. “Her songs,  I love singing them. It’s my style of music. That’s the music I want to create.”

For Hannah, this wasn’t just a fan crush. Womack’s music was part of her childhood, the soundtrack to who she wanted to become.

So when the two finally shared a stage to perform Womack’s beloved hit “I Hope You Dance,” the emotions in the room left everyone in awe.

Fog rolled across the stage, and Hannah’s parents were seen sobbing in the audience as their daughter stood beside the very artist she had grown up admiring.

Hannah and Lee Ann’s magical duet

Womack’s voice sounded as powerful and timeless as ever, while Hannah held her own right beside her.

Every person watching knew what that moment meant to her.

Fans watching at home felt every bit of it.

Clips from the duet flooded social media within minutes.

People were calling it the best vocal performance of the night. And it was particularly emotional because it had nothing to do with technique and everything to do with a real person living out a real dream in real time.

Think about it. This is the same woman who forgot the words during a Lee Ann Womack song in Hollywood Week, too caught up in the moment.

And now here she was, singing side by side with her, on the biggest stage of her life.
