Barry Gibb: The Last Member Of The Bee Gees

What does it feel like to have 22 number-one hits but no one left to call? This is what Barry Gibb, the last member of the Bee Gees, feels.

For Barry, survival doesn’t feel like a victory. It feels like a life sentence. He recently sat down and shared a haunting secret: He wasn’t on speaking terms with his brothers when they died.

The world believes the Bee Gees were a brotherhood of steel. The truth? They were a family torn apart by the very thing that made them famous. By the time Maurice passed away suddenly in 2003, he and Barry were in a cold war, barely speaking to each other.

When Robin succumbed to cancer in 2012, the distance between the two titans of the group was an ocean wide.

Perhaps the deepest cut is Andy, the “baby” of the family. Barry was the one who pushed Andy into the spotlight, and when Andy’s life spiraled into addiction, Barry tried tough love. He was hard on him, trying to save him. When Andy died at just 30, that tough love became Barry’s eternal shadow.

Barry admits that they never functioned” as friends, only as musicians. The fights always stemmed from competition to be the “lead star,” which ruined their bond. They spent their lives trying to outrun each other on the charts, only for Barry to realize too late that he was running toward an empty finish line.

In a raw 2026 interview, Barry confessed: “I’d rather have them all back here and no hits at all.” He said that he can’t look at the old footage. To him, every high-pitched harmony is a reminder of a conversation they never finished. He lives in a world where everyone wants to talk about the music, but all he wants to do is apologize to the ghosts sitting in the empty chairs next to him.

While the world still regards one of the biggest musicians, he regrets the last moments he had with his brothers!
