The crash was a total nightmare. The train flew off the tracks and was smashed into pieces. Sadly, 49 people died that night. Many more were badly hurt.
But guess what? Robin was the lucky one. When the police found him, he was covered in broken glass. Tiny pieces of sharp glass were stuck all through his long, rockstar hair.
But here is the miracle: He didn’t have a single scratch on his body. Not one!
He climbed out of a broken window and started pulling other people out of the wreck. He was like a real-life superhero that day.
After that scary night, Robin felt like he had been given a second chance at life. He said that he felt like he had been “Saved by the Bell” (meaning he was lucky enough to be saved at the very last second!).

Was it a hit? YES! It zoomed to #2 on the UK charts and was a massive hit in the US and Australia.
This solo song of his showed that he didn’t need anyone else to be a superstar! People usually saw him with his brothers, but this song proved Robin was a giant on his own.
